An agreement on construction of a pressurized water reactor nuclear power plant was signed between the Chinese and Argentinean governments on Feb 4, 2015, a signal that China's independently-developed third generation nuclear power technology was ready for export.

The only third generation 1 million kW nuclear power brand with complete proprietary intellectual property rights in China, Hualong One, including its reactor, fuel components and supporting systems, was completely developed by Chinese enterprises from design to construction and operation.

With the approval of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Hualong One meets the world's highest standards of security requirements.

China's first 1 million kW hydropower plant completed on Feb 4, 1975

The Liujiaxia Hydropower Station, China's first large-scale hydropower plant with more than 1 million kW installed capacity, was completed on Feb 4, 1975.

The generation capacity of the station itself and that of its sub-stations along the river's downstream was improved through reservoir regulation.

The station guarantees irrigation in Gansu Province and the Ningxia Hui and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions and irrigates five million mu (333,333.33 hectares) of land, which has increased annual grain harvest by 1.5 million tons.

The risk of flood damage in the areas near the Yellow River was almost resolved and ice flood damage in the Ningxia Hui and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions was greatly reduced.
