China's first X-ray astronomy satellite is delivered on Jan 30, 2018

On Jan 30, 2018, China's first X-ray astronomy satellite, "Insight", developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, began operations, marking the country's high-energy astronomy research stepping up on the new stage of space observation.

The "Insight" satellite engineering project is a major independent innovative space science undertaking, suitable for studying compact celestial frontier problems such as black holes and neutron stars. It equips China with international advanced capabilities in dim variable source patrols of the sky and unique multiband fast light X-ray space observations.

It promotes China's high energy astrophysics research to the top level in the world, and is of great significance in improving China's international status and influence in the field of space science.
