Ecuador's north-to-south highway artery is completed on Jan 22, 2018

The ninth and tenth highway projects in Ecuador contracted by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) came to an end on Jan 22, 2018, marking completion of the country's main north-to-south highway artery.

Construction periods for both projects were 40.5 months, which included construction of the roadbed, pavement, bridges, culverts, underground water supply and drainage pipes, power facilities and environmental protection.

Both are located on the borders between Ecuador and Peru, and are significant in promoting economic development and border trade between the two countries.

World's first satellite communication-based large-type UAV succeeds in maiden night inspection on Jan 22, 2018

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for electrical inspections carried out its first night work on Jan 22, 2018.

Independently developed by China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (CSG), it was the first satellite communication-based large-type UAV to be used in such complex circumstances in the world.

In addition, it was the first time a relay satellite communication had been used in a large UAV inspection system to guarantee an unlimited flight beyond visual range, over complicated landform and with long communication distance.
