Turning off electronic devices when plane takes off no longer a must on Jan 17, 2018

On Jan 17, 2018, China Eastern Air Holding Co. Ltd issued a notice on the Norm for the Use of Portable Electronic Devices on the Planes of China Eastern Airlines, which allows its passengers to use mobile phones, tablet computers, laptops, e-readers and other portable electronic devices on the plane.

China Eastern's flight MU553 was the first flight to put the doctrine into practice. Later, Air China Limited and China Southern Air Holding Company Ltd. issued similar announcements, allowing their passengers to use portable electronic devices on flights in compliance with the rules.

"Turning off your electronic devices after taking off" is now history.

China's first housing development company launched on Jan 17, 1981

China National Real Estate Development Group Corporation Limited was established with the approval of the State Council on Jan 17, 1981.

The first housing development company in China, it promoted and satisfied the comprehensive development of urban construction.

It was renamed twice in November 1987 and January 1993. Later in 2020, it was reorganized and merged into China Communications Construction Company Limited.
