China starts nuclear industry construction on Jan 15, 1955

A meeting was held on Jan 15, 1955, to discuss and decide upon the construction of China's atomic energy industry, which was the start of the country's nuclear industry.

Many central SOEs including China National Nuclear Corporation, China General Nuclear Power Corporation, China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd, China Datang Corporation Ltd., China Huadian Corporation Ltd., State Power Investment Corporation Limited, China Energy Investment Corporation, China First Heavy Industries, China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd, Harbin Electric Corporation and Dongfang Electric Corporation have contributed to construction, operation and industrial chain building of nuclear power in China.

So far, China has achieved successes including the explosion of the first atomic bomb, launching of a nuclear-powered submarine, the country's first heavy water reactor and third-generation nuclear power technology — Hualong One.

Beijing-Shanghai Expressway becomes China's first to use quick charge network for intercity electric motors on Jan 15, 2015

Beijing-Shanghai Expressway opened its quick charge network for intercity electric motors on Jan 15, 2015, which was the first in China.

A total of 50 quick charge stations were built along the 1,262 km highway by State Grid Corporation of China and each station features four chargers and eight charging piles to meet the demands of electric vehicles to Chinese standards.

The opening of the charging service was proof that China's power charging infrastructure has developed into intercity transport.
