Gezhouba Dam completed on Jan 4, 1981

The Gezhouba water conservancy project was the largest of its kind completed in China in the 20th century.

The first large-scale water conservancy project domestically designed, constructed and operated by China, it was a milestone in the country's hydropower construction and proof of its leading level in the industry.

To date, China has total hydroelectric installed capacity of 300 million kWh, the largest volume in the world.

A backbone to promote development of the world's hydropower industry, China masters the full industrial chain of planning, designing, engineering, equipment manufacturing and power transmission and transformation technology and has established long term cooperation in hydropower planning, construction and investment with more than 80 countries.

Guiding Opinions on Central SOEs Fulfilling Their Social Responsibilities issued on Jan 4, 2008

The Guiding Opinions on Central SOEs Fulfilling Their Social Responsibilities was issued by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) on Jan 4, 2008.

The document promoted communications between central SOEs and all fields in society. In addition, it encouraged central SOEs to better fulfill their responsibilities.

It also asked central SOEs to contribute more to coordinated and sustainable progress in social and economic development.
