First Manned Deep-Sea Submersible, Jiaolong, Undertakes Fifth Deep Sea Dive

The manned deep-sea submersible Jiaolong, China's first domestically developed vessel of its kind, undertook its fifth deep sea dive on Jun 27, 2012.

It completed various operations in water as deep as 7,062 meters, the deepest ever undertaken, stretching China's deep sea scientific investigation to 99.8 percent of global ocean waters.
