An electrified cockpit of a model airplane, a virtual integration platform, was on display at the innovation area of the China Pavilion at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.
Developed by COMAC Beijing Aeronautical Science & Technology Research Institute, the platform is mainly used for green smart electrification aircraft technology integration and verification.
The platform basically contains a simulated cockpit and 24 system simulation workstations.
The state of operating systems including the engine, electrical engineering, hydraulic pressure, flight control and environmental control is displayed in the cockpit, and automatic signaling is generated.
The 24 workstations are used to calculate system models and monitor dynamic operation of all systems via a three-dimensional real-time animation presentation system.
At the exhibition stand, visitors can see scenes of large-scale passenger aircraft taking off from Beijing Daxing International Airport, flying over the Great Wall and landing at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport next to the CIIE venue through the virtual integration platform.
According to COMAC, the platform is the company's first model which realizes synchronization and real-time simulation of all systems of an aircraft.
It also provides the first aircraft economic evaluation initiated by the digital simulation approach. By assessing fuel efficiency of different aircraft types, the platform can make suggestions for aviation system frame design.
In addition, through a developed display control interface, real-time monitoring and online parameter adjustment of mobile system operation states can be achieved.
Generally speaking, the platform is proof of China's capacity in commercial aircraft mobile system design, integration and airworthiness certification acquirement and plays a significant role in improving the country's self-development ability in commercial aircraft while lessening the technological gap between China and internationally leading suppliers.
The six-day expo opened on Nov 5.
