5G-based Products Support CIIE's Operations, Services

Updated: 2019-11-14

China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. (China Mobile) has taken full advantage of 5G technology in safety and services support in fields like traffic, exhibition and publicity at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) which was held from Nov 5 to 10.

A "5G plus passenger flow monitoring" application is in use at the exhibition hall to collect and analyze the real-time volume of people in the exhibition halls and different floors.

Adopting a three-dimensional model and advanced indoors high accuracy positioning technologies, the system gives early warnings of risks by value and grade, which improves and guarantees safety control when there are large numbers of visitors.

Six 5G-based dedicated emergency ambulances are in place at the Expo.

Developed by China Mobile, the ambulances are equipped with a 5G mobile health care platform and are responsible for all-dimensional first-aid services for the event.

Integrating emergency ambulances, a cloud central platform and designated hospitals, the platform has a cross-regional emergency supporting system, which makes possible real-time communication between medical experts in the hospitals and doctors in the ambulances.

In addition, 34 information stations at the Expo are installed with a 5G system that offers high definition (HD) and 5G+VR live-streams of displays.

The 5G information station is also connected with Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, the first 5G-based connection of its kind in China, through which both visitors to the Expo and passengers at the railway station can don VR glasses to see what's on at the Expo in real time.

China Mobile's 5G network is also the core engine of the service robots which act as scooters, consultation service providers and cleaners.
