World's Largest Crawling Crane Completes Overseas Hoisting

Updated: 2019-11-07

The key and heaviest device of the SABIC UNITE EOEG III project in Saudi Arabia, a 1,926-ton scrubbing tower, was hoisted by a 4,000-ton crawling crane, the XGC88000, on Oct 24.

The hoisting was the first overseas mission of the machine and showed the advanced engineering and strong equipment manufacturing capacities of Chinese enterprises.

Jointly developed by China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) and Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG), the machine has the best lifting capacity in the world.

The machine has three international initiative practical technologies, six internationally leading technologies and more than 80 national patents, which reflect the technical advantages of the Chinese crane and transportation industry.

The XGC88000 has large load movement capacity, wide coverage of operation conditions and strong foundation adaptability and is easily assembled and disassembled, which meets actual hoisting demands of large, heavy and tall devices in many energy engineering projects in the petroleum, chemical engineering and coal chemical industries.

A flagship machine of a shipping subsidiary of Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd., the crane has participated in several major constructions in China and set records for a hoisted height of 118 meters and lifted weight of 2,155 tons.

Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. is a large-scale integrated construction service provider and technical patent licenser responsible for Sinopec Group's overseas and domestic oil refining and chemical engineering market. It has evolved into one of the main international engineering contractors in the Gulf region of the Middle East.
