Strategic Planning Institute Established for China's Nuclear Industry Development

The Strategic Planning Research Institute of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) was launched on Oct 24 as a national professional think tank focusing on strategic studies, management, and consultancy in the nuclear industry.

As China enters a new era, a pioneer team for nuclear industry strategic planning is needed to offer solutions to the general development of the national nuclear industry, nuclear power and related technologies, research and predict major risks and make suggestions on the promotion of safe exploration and usage of nuclear power.

The institute is composed of five units including the China National Nuclear Technology Information and Economic Research Institute, the Computer Application Institute of Nuclear Industry and the Nuclear Industry Standard Research Center.

It will concentrate on improving general strategic planning, strategic consultancy, administration and management, and information collection and analysis, as well as economic situation study and prediction capacities and evolve into a world-leading think tank in the nuclear field.

Besides, it will develop plans for the overall development of the nuclear industry, power and technology from a national angle to support the construction of China's nuclear industry system.
