Flying Car Returns to CIIE Stage

Updated: 2019-11-06

A second generation flying car produced by a Slovakian company arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Oct 28.

The car was packed in a 6.1-meter long, 2.4-meter wide and two-meter high wooden box, and weighed about two tons in total. It will be on display at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held from Nov 5 to 10.

One of the star exhibits of last year's CIIE, the car has aerofoils on both sides and can quickly switch from automobile to airplane mode.

The second generation model will have a totally new appearance.

To avoid damage to the exhibit, Eastern Air Logistics Co., Ltd. (EAL) established a supporting group for the car and opened a green passage for CIIE freight. Detailed plans including file reception, cargo delivery and tallying as well as storage.

Combined methods of monitoring systems and personnel patrolling will be undertaken to guarantee the safety of the exhibit.

Meanwhile, the company also booked a dedicated suspension vehicle in advance and appointed special staff members to ensure a safe journey.

In addition to the flying car, EAL was also responsible for transportation of Finland's concept car and sensitive items like the crystal glass from Czech Republic in the first CIIE.

This year, the company shoulders more transportation service and its nonstop service has been recognized as a part of CIIE's "6 days +365 days" One-stop Trading Services Platform.

The second CIIE will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) and 64 countries and three international organizations have confirmed their participation.
