Updated: 2019-11-01

The 2,500-ton daily output clinker cement project in Shieli, Kazakhstan, invested by China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China Group), was completed and put into operation on Oct 18 local time.

Located in Shieli district in southwest Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda region, the project has an investment of $178 million and a designed annual production capacity of one million tons.

The main products of the project are common cement and cement for oil wells; the latter will fill a gap in Kazakhstan's domestic market and change the country's long-term dependence on imported oil well cement.

Launched on April 7, 2017, the project was completed and put into production in two and a half years, a record speed for construction of cement production lines in Kazakhstan and a demonstration of "China quality" and "China speed".

According to the project director, ever since trial production the equipment has run smoothly and the products have been used in local oil wells, the 100-megawatt Zhanatas Wind-Power Station LLP in Zhambyl region and Shymkent International Airport. They have also been exported to Uzbekistan, creating an annual production value of $50 million.
