Updated: 2019-10-17

Construction of the 200-MW dual-fuel power plant project in Cambodia started on Oct 5 with the building of its first pile foundation.

The project is so far the largest of its kind in the country and is contracted by a consortium of China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. and CGGC-UN Power Co., Ltd. Both companies are subsidiaries of China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd (CGGC).

China Energy Engineering Group East China Electric Power Test Research Institute Co., Ltd. is in charge of the project's design and China Energy Engineering Group Anhui No.2 Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd shoulders building and installation as well as purchase of supporting devices.

The project is the result of cooperation between subsidiaries of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd (Energy China Group) and a reflection of high-quality development.

It is estimated that the plant will produce 1.75 billion kWh of power per year when it begins service, which will relieve the current power shortage in Cambodia.
