Power Production of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station Reaches 200 Billion kWh

Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station had produced a total of 200 billion kWh of electricity by 13:12 on Aug 31, according to the 2018 total electricity consumption report.

That much green electric energy could meet the demands of all of Hubei Province for a year, and is equal to a reduction of about 62.4 million tons in standard coal consumption, about 164.4 million tons of carbon dioxide and about 780,000 tons of sulfur dioxide.

The station has contributed to China's energy conservation and emission reduction, environmental protection and economic development.

It has been operated stably, safely and efficiently since its first generation unit started operation in 2012.

Annual repairs to the station are a must to ensure reliability of the machines and more routine inspections are necessary on days with high temperature or during rainstorms and heavy winds to guarantee safe operation.

In addition, the station has strengthened management to coordinate relationships between various kinds of businesses.

Many innovative technologies like smart inspection and diagnostic systems are also under development to improve the quality and efficiency of power production.
