Zhao Aiming Meets with Portugal's AICEP Chairman Luis Henriques

Zhao Aiming, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), met with a delegation led by Luis Henriques, Chairman of Portugal's trade and investment agency AICEP, in Beijing on July 24.

The two sides exchanged ideas on further promoting pragmatic cooperation between Chinese and Portuguese enterprises and jointly building the Belt and Road.

Zhao briefed the delegation on the opening-up and cooperation of SASAC and Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) as well as Chinese central SOEs' investment in and cooperation with Portugal.

She said that the exchange of visits by the two heads of state in the short term reflected the high-level of China-Portugal relations and pointed out the direction for the cooperation between Chinese and Portuguese enterprises.

SASAC and Chinese central SOEs will implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, continue to promote cooperation in energy, new energy vehicles and other fields on the basis of good partnership, and transform the traditional friendship between China and Portugal into tangible results, Zhao added.

After explaining Portugal's investment environment and its advantages in developing new energy vehicles, Henriques said Portugal attaches great importance to the development of Chinese central SOEs.

He went on to say that Portugal is willing to continue deepening exchanges and cooperation with SASAC, and welcomes Chinese enterprises' investment in Portugal and the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
