The 10th Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) opened on July 19 at the Multisports Complex Cote D'or, ST Pierre, Mauritius.
Contracted by China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the sports center completed on July 15 is the country's largest and the first built to international standards.
The center was jointly invested by Mauritius and China. Its construction started in October 2018.
The center has a multi-purpose stadium, an aquatic sports center, a gymnasium and a football pitch. Events for sports like judo and swimming are to be held at the comprehensive stadium and the water sport center.
