Start of operations of the Industrial Internet Convergence Platform for Chinese central SOEs was announced at the 2019 International Conference on Industrial Internet which opened in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province, on June 15.
Led by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), the platform was developed by 28 Chinese central SOEs including China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited (CASIC), China National Petroleum Corporation, State Grid Corporation of China and China Unicom.
The platform, which integrates Chinese central SOEs' resources, is intended to build an industrial internet convergence development ecosystem.
It will evolve into a carrier with "cross-element, cross-field, cross-industries, cross-region and cross-platform" features, and will improve supervision capacity related to state-owned properties, promote resource sharing among Chinese central SOEs and provide support to ecological construction of industrial chains.
CASIC also launched the CASICloud industrial system-level application and its international workshop for cloud businesses during the event.
At the conference, Liu Shiquan, deputy secretary of Party committee of CASIC, confirmed that China's industrial internet technology has been developing rapidly in recent years and has largely supported the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.
He said it is expected that in the future, the deepening application of the industrial internet will continue to accelerate the digitalization of manufacturers and promote collaborative innovation, customized products, networked-manufacturing and integrated industries.
Meanwhile, the industrial internet is also a driving force for updating of production technology of economic entities, innovation of business modes and renovation of product supply.
CASICloud is the first integrated system-level industrial application in China that contains systems supporting enterprises' decision making, operations, trading and manufacturing processes.
Enterprises can also get access to internet connection service, outsourcing services and valuable data mining services through the platform.
The multiple service function makes CASICloud an application that can promote the convergence of industrialization and informatization and rev up the development of information technologies such as core software and hardware, industrial cloud technology and intelligent service.
To date, the global version of CASICloud has completed sub-platforms in English, German, Russian and Spanish and has launched in Germany and some other countries.
CASIC has also signed cooperative agreements with international enterprises and institutes like Siemens, SAP, Bosch, Technische Universität Darmstadt and RWTH Aachen University to push forward the development of the international industrial internet industry.
CASIC has also signed strategic agreements with the government of Sichuan province.
Six themed sessions were set up during the conference on industrial internet convergence development of Chinese central SOEs, the industrial internet, innovative development of intelligent manufacturing, international cooperation and the future of the industrial internet, deepening convergence of advanced manufacturing and the productive service industry.
The conference was sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the government of Sichuan province, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited, the government of Chengdu, the Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Department, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Sichuan Province, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, CASICloud and the Alliance of Industrial Internet.
