Xinzhou 60 Aircraft Joins Cameroon's National Day Celebration

Updated: 2019-06-03

The Xinzhou 60 was delivered to Cameroon and was on stage at the country's National Day celebration at the capital Yaounde on May 20, local time.

Developed by Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd (AVIC), the Xinzhou 60 at the celebration was delivered in 2012 and has chalked up 2,435 flights with a total of 3,261 flight hours.

The Xinzhou 60 air fleet, which started service in the Republic of Congo in 2006, has transported more than 400,000 passengers.

It is an air bridge connecting central African countries that makes it easier for people to travel between countries and promotes economic growth of the affected regions.

For years, AVIC International and the joint service group sent by AVIC have worked together with local workers in Cameroon and Congo on aircraft maintenance and provided technical support to guarantee daily operation of the flights.

In recent years AVIC has proposed the "Air Silk Road", which would create aviation industrial system solutions though integrating China-made aircraft with new airports. Improvement of air service would promote Chinese planes to the world and increase international exchanges in terms of equipment, techniques and management between China and the client countries.
