On April 26, Ren Hongbin, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), met with Peter Bakker, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). The two parties exchanged views on issues such as sustainable development of enterprises and strengthening cooperation.
Ren pointed out that SASAC attaches great importance to sustainable development and actively guides Chinese central SOEs to practice new development concepts and integrate sustainable development into strategic planning and company management.
He said that SASAC will continue to support Chinese central SOEs to carry out exchanges and cooperation with WBCSD and other international organizations, and will encourage them to draw on experience, enhance soft power, and establish a good image in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Bakker expressed appreciation of the work of SASAC in promoting sustainable development of Chinese central SOEs over the years and hoped to strengthen cooperation with SASAC and Chinese central SOEs to that end.
