Chinese Central SOEs Engage in Urban Construction

Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Chinese central state-owned enterprises have played roles in urban construction all around the world and they will participate in creating more landmarks of cities involved in the BRI.

New capital of Egypt

China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has participated in the construction of the new capital of Egypt, which is a key project of the country's government.

It will be the new political and financial center of the country when completed.

The landmark tower of the new capital's central business district will be as high as 385.8 meters, the tallest in Africa.

Lusail Stadium - the main stadium for the 2022 Qatar World Cup

China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) won the bid for the construction of Lusail Stadium - the main stadium for the 2022 Qatar World Cup - in 2015.

The opening and closing ceremonies as well as some matches will be held at the stadium during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The construction improved Chinese companies' engagement in the Middle East market and promoted the China-made reputation.
