Updated: 2019-04-25

An efficient, energy conservation and environmental-friendly Post Panamax Carrier that can hold 8,000 cars was delivered to Wallenius Lines on April 11.

The ship, built by Tianjin Xingang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), is 199.9 meters long, 36.5 meters wide and about 52 meters high, and has about 66,000 sq m of deck where the cars are parked. Its designed draft is 9.2 meters and its structural draft is 11 meters.

Since the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward in 2013, the company has actively developed its international business and was contracted to construct the 8,000 unit capacity international ro-ro ship with independent intellectual property rights.

The ship is a super-large ro-ro vessel featuring the most advanced technologies and is a new achievement under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The delivery of the ship signals that the company's ro-ro ship building skills have matured and that it is able to offer better product quality. The company is now in a position to mass produce this kind of vessel.
