Hoisting of the power plant containing two units of 660mW installed capacity in Vietnam, contracted by China Huadian Engineering Co., Ltd. (CHEC), started on March 20, marking the beginning of the high-altitude installation work of CHEC's largest overseas coal-fired power plant.

The construction of the plant is the largest power generation project invested in Vietnam by CHEC and its Malaysian partner. It will provide safe, reliable and clean energy for Vietnam and will alleviate the country's power shortages.

The plant, located in the power generation industrial park in Duyên Hải district of Trà Vinh province in Vietnam, will feature two super-critical generator sets of 660mW installed capacity and a supporting coal unloading wharf.

CHEC holds 51 percent of the project's stock and shoulders engineering procurement and construction duties.

The project started on May 26, 2017 and is scheduled for completion in 2021.
