The China-aided Small-scale Stadium Project, constructed by China Qiyuan Engineering Corporation (CQEC) in the Republic of Vanuatu, was listed by the US-based Engineering News Record (ENR) Magazine as the Best Sport Project in 2018.

Located at the Port Vila, capital of Vanuatu, the stadium was a non-reimbursable China-aided project. The project covers constructions such as renovating the old stadium and building a 1,000-seat stadium, two swimming pools, four beach volleyball courts, six tennis courts and two athletes' preparation rooms.

The project was handed over to Vanuatu on Oct 30, 2017 after 15 months' construction.

The China-aided Small-scale Stadium Project is the first of its kind and has won ENR rewards since 2013 when CQEC undertook China-aided projects from the Ministry of Commerce.

As a fruit of the strategic partnership between Vanuatu and China, the project offered a solid foundation for Vanuatu to hold the Pacific Mini Games in 2017 and has greatly improved the country's attractiveness and competitiveness in the South Pacific region.
