Weng Jieming meets with HI-LEX President Teraura Makoto

Weng Jieming, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), met with a delegation led by HI-LEX President Teraura Makoto in Beijing, on Feb 27.

Weng briefed the delegation on the functions of SASAC and the development of Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the healthcare sector.

He said that the Chinese central SOEs are actively implementing the Healthy China Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, and vigorously developing business in the medical and health care industry. They are willing to establish cooperative partnerships with Japanese enterprises in business such as frontier technology and high-end medical equipment to achieve mutual development and meet the people's needs for a better life and their demands for medical and healthcare services.

Teraura said that HI-LEX Corporation boasts advantages in artificial heart production and is promoting artificial heart technology in China so that Chinese patients can benefit from the world's highest scientific and technological achievements and boost the development of China's medical device industry. He added that the company is willing to further explore cooperation with Chinese central SOEs.
