Themed on the research and application of intelligent drilling technology, the project was designed to be launched on Mar 1.

The signing of the contract marked the first time CNPC has landed a scientific research cooperation project with Saudi Aramco, which are often given to international large-scale petroleum engineering technology service companies.

It is expected that a CNPC scientific team will help Saudi Aramco draw the blueprints for its intelligent drilling technology in the next five years.

The top-level design of the scientific cooperation project started on Oct 20, 2017 and was the biggest investment in scientific and technological research and development that Saudi Aramco has made in the Asian-Pacific region in recent years.
