Pierre Cardin designed air hostesses' uniform of Air China

In July 1988, Air China invited Pierre Cardin, a famous French fashion designer, to design uniform for its airhostesses. The upgraded sapphire costume changed stereotype of the Chinese in the eyes of foreigners, reflecting the progress of the reform and opening-up. Later, many businesses in service sector followed the trend.
