Kou Wei, president of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), signed a cooperative framework agreement with Rodrigo Costa, Chairman of the Redes Energéticas Nacionais (REN) on Dec 5 local time, in Lisbon, Portugal. The framework agreement will promote power cooperation between China and Portugal.

The two companies plan to expand their power infrastructure cooperation in South America, Africa and Europe to realize mutual benefits.

SGCC has advance technologies and rich experience in power network construction, operation and management. It shared its knowhow with REN to support the Portuguese power company's grid network connection project with Morocco.

In addition, SGCC and REN will do research together on green energy transformation and send employees to each other's headquarters or subsidiaries to exchange technologies and experience.

As a shareholder of REN, SGCC will strongly support the company's expansion of its international business and work with it to open European and Portuguese markets.

REN said it is willing to make joint efforts with SGCC, implementing commitments in the framework agreement and promoting the two countries' power energy cooperation.
