China Telecom and Shanghai Nokia Bell signed an AI Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement at the PT Expo China18 on Sept 26.

The two companies have agreed to integrate new technologies, including AI, Big Data and cloud computing with the 4G and especially future 5G mobile networks to optimize current network resources.

The cooperation is expected to make AI contribute more to the mobile communication network, and drive the development of related vertical industries.

In addition, AI's key technologies, such as intelligent wireless resources management, Massive MIMO and machine learning, will be further researched, experimented and promoted under the AI Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement.

China Telecom, as a forerunner of supply-side reform of AI, Big Data and cloud computing, has already signed cooperation agreements with China's 236 cities.

In the near future, China Telecom is going to initiate a "Hello 5G" campaign, promote the network intelligence, ecological business, and operational intelligence, and strive to build a 5G intelligent ecosystem to contribute to the transformation and upgrading of enterprises. Seventeen Chinese cities are expected to be 5G pilot zones.

The company will try its best to bring 5G service to market in 2020 and to mature its 5G standards with the cooperation of other parties along the industrial chain.
