Carbon fiber metro vehicle debuts

On September 18, CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC) launched its new generation metro vehicle "CETROVO" at the InnoTrans 2018 in Berlin.

CETROVO embraces many new materials and technologies, making the new generation metro vehicles more efficient, comfortable, intelligent and environmentally friendly than traditional ones.

Carbon fiber composite, the main material of CETROVO, is a new lightweight material with high-intensity, giving the new vehicle a 13 percent much lighter body.

In addition, a new energy-efficient traction system is also adopted in the vehicle, reducing its energy consumption by 15 percent.

CETROVO is also tolerant to tough environments. It can run smoothly in extreme temperatures and high humidity and altitude (2,500 m).

A window of CETROVO

The vehicle is able to work without an external power supply. Its internal energy storage system can drive the vehicle as far as 15 km should there be a power failure. 

Intelligence is another highlight of CETROVO. The vehicle's windows are screens providing various forms of information to passengers. They can watch news, browse the Web, buy tickets, and watch videos and live TV shows on the window.

In addition, the new vehicle offers passengers a quieter and less vibrating environment.
