The total length of the bridge, including the approach viaducts, is 2,400 meters.

The bridge is an important part of the planned Central Mekong Delta Connectivity Project, which aims to encourage the economic and social development of the delta area.

It is also expected to help to ease the traffic congestion of Cao Lanh and to promote business cooperation between the city and its neighbors in southern Vietnam.
