Main Body of Three-Tower Self-Anchored Suspension Bridge with World's Longest Span Completed

Updated: 2020-10-23

Construction of the main body of the Fenghuang Yellow River Bridge in Jinan, Shandong province was recently completed. The bridge will be a three-tower self-anchored suspension bridge and will have the world's longest span.

A key traffic project in Jinan's pilot driving force transformation region, the bridge is a cross-river expansion of the north Fenghuang Road and the widest of the Yellow River bridges.

Contracted by CCCC Second Harbour Engineering Company Ltd., a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC), the 1,332-meter bridge has two 428-meter main parts and eight lanes built to a first class road construction standard.

With a designed speed of 60 kilometers per hour, once operable the bridge will act as a main road in the city to relieve traffic congestion and promote construction of Jinan's pilot driving force transformation region.
