Updated: 2020-10-23

Newly-completed construction of the main body of the National Convention & Exhibition Center (Tianjin) project has passed inspection and the underground foundation construction is now underway.

Located in Jinnan district in Tianjin, the center is built by China State Construction Engineering Corporation in two phases.

The first phase of the project, covering about 800,000 square meters, features a 480,000-sq m exhibition area and a 320,000-sq m comprehensive supportive area.

The second part with 540,000-sq m of building area will include large-scale exhibition halls, outdoor exhibition zones, exhibition corridors and supportive facilities.

The center will be the largest of its kind in North China upon completion and the third-largest international convention and exhibition center following those in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

It will open its first exhibition – the China Building Science Conference and Green Intelligent Building Expo – in June 2021.
