COSCO SHIPPING Logistics Co., Ltd (COSCO SHIPPING Logistics) opened China-Russia international freight train service on March 24 as the first 41-carriage train, carrying 82 containers of goods, left for Russia from Guangzhou, the capital city of South China's Guangdong province.
A major national project in China and a new full-sourcing route to operate and manage for COSCO SHIPPING Logistics, the China-Russia international freight train service is a result of cooperation between COSCO SHIPPING Logistics and Guangdong GW Holdings Group Co., Ltd. It will help to boost construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the international trade channels of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Starting from Dalang, the freight train leaves China through two cities, Manzhouli or Erenhot in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region and then goes through several Russian cities including Perm, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Moscow as well as Minsk of Belarus.
