CGGC Signs Uganda's 500 MW PV Power Project

China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) signed a frame contract on Uganda's 500 MW photovoltaic (PV) power project on Feb 17.

The project will promote China's new energy industry to go global as well as advance transformation of the global energy structure and sustainable development.

With a total installed capacity of about 500 MW, the roughly $500 million project is separated into two sections, in Moroto and Libbi.

The only EPC contractor of the project, the Chinese side will shoulder the design, purchasing, engineering and trial operations, during which more than a thousand jobs could be created.
