POWERCHINA agrees to participate in construction of Southeast Asia's first one-million kW supercritical coal-fired power plant on Nov 9, 2012

The construction agreement on participating in the construction of the Malaysia Manjung 1×1000MW coal-fired power station was signed by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) on Nov 9, 2012.

Located in Perak, the west coast of the Malay Peninsula, the plant was the first one-million kW supercritical coal-fired power plant in Southeast Asia and had the region's largest unit capacity coal-fired generator unit.

The general EPC contractor of the project was the consortium of China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd and France's Alsthom Ltd.

POWERCHINA was responsible for the BOP installation and adjustment of the project.
