Predecessor of China National Erzhong Group Co. starts construction on Oct 13, 1958

Construction of the predecessor of China National Erzhong Group Co. began on Oct 13, 1958.

The company has become a subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd and has evolved into one of the national major technical equipment manufacturing bases and the largest and most important new energy equipment manufacturing base in China.

Over the past more than 60 years the company had provided nearly two million tons of heavy machinery for national economic and national construction departments in fields like metallurgy, mining, energy, transportation, automobile manufacturing, petrochemical engineering and aerospace.

Many of its machines were the first in China which promoted manufacturing of self-developed heavy technical equipment.

China, Russia sign MOU for Beijing-Moscow high-speed transportation corridor project on Oct 13

China and Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on high-speed railway cooperation on Oct 13, 2014, aiming to promote the Eurasian high-speed transportation corridor from Beijing to Moscow.

The Moscow-Kazan high-speed railway project, with participation by China Railway Group Limited and other units, was the first to start construction.

Travel time between the two cities will be shortened to three and a half hours when the railway is operational.

The MOU signaled that China and Russia's cooperation in high-speed railway construction had entered a new stage.

Main body of the Tongjiang China-Russia Railway Bridge's Chinese section is completed on Oct 13, 2018

The main body of the Chinese section of the first cross-river railway bridge connecting China with Russia was completed on Oct 13, 2018.

The total length of the bridge is 7,193.71 meters, with 1,886.45 meters in China and 328.57 in Russia. The main bridge spanning the river is 2,215.02 meters in length.

It has a designed cargo capacity of 21 million tons per year.

It will be a new railway connecting Chinese railways with Russia's Far East railways and the Trans-Siberian Railway, which will promote trade between the two countries, contribute to Belt and Road construction and rev up revitalization of northeastern China in the New Era.
