CHD's Most-invested Overseas Project Enters Construction, Installation Peak

Updated: 2019-08-12

The No.1 boiler ceiling girder (K1) of the 2×660MW Duyen Hai 2 Project was hoisted on August 6 local time in Vietnam, marking the start of the peak period of the project's construction.

The installation of the main girder, one of the important components that will lay the foundation for the project's commercial operation, is difficult and requires advanced technique.

The week-long continuous typhoon and rainfall of the August rainy season in Vietnam brought definite challenges to the hoisting.

The project department consequently optimized the hoisting plan, conducted special examinations of crane spreaders and inspected the transport line of the girder on site to guarantee a smooth hoisting.

Built by China Huadian Engineering Co., Ltd. (CHEC), a subsidiary of China Huadian Corporation Ltd (CHD), the project is CHD's most-invested overseas project.

Located in the coastal power generation industrial zone of Tra Vinh Province, the project neighbors Ho Chi Minh City, a power load center of the country.

The project includes construction of two 660MW supercritical coal-fired generating units and a supporting coal-loading terminal and is scheduled to be put into operation in 2021.
