First Overseas Hualong One's Turbine Covered, Ready for Hot Test

The joint of the turbine's cover of the K-2 power generator unit of the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant was installed on July 24.

Installation of the turbine's cover joint marked the start of the individual section adjustment of the facility and laid a solid foundation for future work on the unit's turning device and hot testing.

The first overseas Hualong One conventional island, the K-2 project triggered development of many technical innovations and has promoted domestic manufacturing of various devices.

For example, many technical and manufacturing breakthroughs were made to develop the low pressure rotor, a core component of the turbine.

The remarkable achievement was that the first China-made one million-level nuclear power TCS hardware device had been produced and passed functional testing.
