Updated: 2019-07-25

China's Tiangong II space lab, having finished all of its missions, re-entered the atmosphere under control on July 19, 2019 Beijing time, according to China Manned Space.

A small amount of debris fell in the designated secure area in the South Pacific.

Developed on the basis of Tiangong Ⅰ, Tiangong II space lab, consisting of a test cabin and a resource compartment, was capable of missions like rendezvous and docking with the Shenzhou manned spacecraft and the Tianzhou cargo spaceship, implementing propellant-driven track adjustments and carrying out important scientific space experiments and technical tests.

Tiangong II space lab, with a designed in-orbit life span of two years, was launched on September 15, 2016.

It operated in orbit for more than 1,000 days, and its platform and load function were normal and in good condition before it returned to earth.
