World's first production line for light and high-permeable photovoltaic (pv) glass goes into operation on May 23, 2018

The production line for 1.5-millimeter light and high-permeable pv glass was completed and started operation on May 23, 2018.

The super thin and light pv glass was developed by China National Building Materials Group Co Ltd (CNBM).

The production line was built under the standards of Industries 4.0 and has one of the highest levels of intelligence for pv glass production lines in the global pv industry. It integrates automation, informatization and intelligentization.

What's more, the project also adopted an internationally advanced oxy-fuel glass furnace design with high efficiency, low emission, environmental protection and complete intellectual property rights.

China's new-type fifth generation magnetic levitation (maglev) train succeeds in pilot operation on May 23, 2018

The new type of China's fifth generation magnetic levitation (maglev) train passed pilot operation testing on May 23, 2018.

Jointly developed by many companies including CRRC Corporation Limited, all the key components of the maglev train were completely manufactured by Chinese enterprises and many technical skills were created during the process.

The design speed of the train is 160 kilometers per hour and it is the first of its kind to adopt the operation model of combining long-stator permanent magnet linear traction and hybrid magnet levitation techniques.

The traction efficiency of the new train improved 10 percent and its power consumption was lowered more than 20 percent compared to that of the old types, significant contributions to the development of China's maglev technology.
