Ansteel Group became the only supplier of the over 58,000 tons of steels needed for Jinhai Bridge, according to the company on May 5.
This is the fourth bridge in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to be built with Ansteel Group's steel after the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the Nansha Bridge and the immersed tube project for the Shenzhen-Zhongshan tunnel.
Jinhai Bridge, located in southwestern Zhuhai, is 1.4 kilometers' long and 49.6 meters' wide.
It is the first bridge combining highway and railway built at the estuary of the Pearl River Delta and the first cross-sea bridge with highway and railway in the same layer in China.
As it is an offshore bridge, complicated conditions including seawater corrosion, typhoons, and earthquakes were seriously considered in its design, construction and materials and the requirements for construction materials are set high.
