Xiao Yaqing, Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), met with Ethiopian Ambassador to China Teshome Toga in Beijing on April 17.
The Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have been actively carrying out pragmatic cooperation with Ethiopian companies in accordance with market-oriented and commercial principles in recent years, with positive results, Xiao remarked.
He said that SASAC and Chinese central SOEs will implement the important consensus of the heads of the two states and take the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation as a platform to seek more opportunities and new models for cooperation with a goal of developing more high-quality projects in Ethiopia, Xiao added.
Toga appreciated Chinese central SOEs' support in Ethiopia's economic and social development as well as improvement to public well-being, saying that he hoped the two sides will further develop the China-Ethiopia friendship and set an example of China-Africa cooperation featuring mutual benefits and win-win results under the guidance of the Belt and Road Initiative.
