The Chinese icebreaker Xuelong recently completed China's 35th research mission to Antarctica and returned to its home port of Shanghai.

The expedition was tasked with completion of national major infrastructure projects, completion of the second phase of the Taishan station, construction of a new station on the Enkesburg island on the Ross Sea, construction of the national Antarctic observation monitoring network, investigation of marine environmental protection and environmental renovation of the new station area.

With the construction plan of the new station area on Enkesburg island, ZPMC has completed the observation records made with Xuelong during the voyage.

The company said it has accumulated abundant research materials through exchanges and participation in all aspects of the construction in the new station area, which will provide a solid foundation for China Communications Construction Company to take part in the construction of the south pole in the future.

In December last year, ZPMC customized 10 standard sledges, one large sled and two oil bag skis for Xuelong, part of its efforts to help the expedition complete the task of iceberg transportation.
