Pakistan's coal fired power plant starts operation

The unit 1 generator of Pakistan's 2×25 MW coal-fired power plant in Punjab province successfully conducted a trial full-load operation for 72+24 hours on Jan 16.

The plant was built by Hunan Electric Power Design Institute Co Ltd under the EPC contract of Hunan Thermal Power Construction Co Ltd, subsidiaries of China Energy Engineering Group.

It consists of two 25MW coal-fired circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers, and is the first coal-fired power plant invested by the Pakistan government that use the inferior local coal in the region.

For Hunan Electric Power Design Institute, the station is also its first overseas EPC project on coal-fired power plant and it applied China's latest technologies and experiences into the project.
