Chinese central SOEs are devoted to realizing win-win and multi-win results and have carried out cooperation with Zambian enterprises in various fields in accordance with market-oriented principles, Xiao noted.
They set up business incubators like the Zambia-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, which increased tax revenue and job opportunities, boosted local economies and carried out their social responsibility, Xiao added.
He went on to say that in the next step SASAC and Chinese central SOEs will earnestly implement the spirit of the upcoming FOCAC Beijing Summit, in particular the keynote speech to be made by President Xi Jinping, seize the new opportunities brought by complementarity between the Belt and Road Initiative and development of Africa and bring the pragmatic cooperation between enterprises of the two countries and of China and Africa to a higher level.
Zambian President Edgar Lungu made a keynote speech at the business forum.
He said Zambia-China friendship was established and nurtured by the leaders of elder generations and that he had had several meetings with President Xi Jinping and reached extensive agreements, adding that Zambia cherishes the friendship established on the basis of sincerity and equality. He expressed his gratitude to China for helping Zambia over many years.
