Hualong One equipment delivered to Pakistan

The internal component equipment of the Hualong One’s first overseas reactor, Karachi Unit 2 in Pakistan, was recently delivered by Shanghai No 1 Machine Tool Works Co.

It’s the second delivery of nuclear island main equipment made by the company for Hualong One.

Following the construction of Fuqing Unit 5, the Karachi Unit 2 is Hualong One’s second global nuclear project under construction, and is also a demonstration project of Hualong One’s first overseas reactor.

The unit is an important achievement for China in the implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Belt and Road Initiative.

Shanghai No 1 Machine Tool Works Co Ltd supplied the internal component equipment of Hualong One’s first reactor and its first overseas reactor within one month. It showed that it has an overall mastery of the core manufacturing technology to produce the internal component equipment for the Hualong One reactor, China’s Generation III nuclear brand with independently owned intellectual rights. 

In addition, it has developed batch manufacturing capacity and the ability to research, produce and deliver main components of nuclear island equipment.
